Today we’re going to continue talking Buyer Hacks and helping you choose the right neighborhood for your lifestyle. So, out of the gates, you’re going to want to set your priorities. Are you looking to raise a family? Are you looking for a nice retirement community? Do you do you like the nightlife and prefer an urban setting? Or do you want some acreage in a rural area where you can spread out a little bit? Once you make those determinations, that’s going to help you focus your search. Another thing to consider are crime stats and safety. Most larger municipalities, including Fort Wayne, have nice websites whew you can go and do research to make sure that you’re in areas in which you’re comfortable.  School systems: The State of Indiana has a nice rating system for our schools so you can do research there and make sure school systems are up to your standards. Finally, you also want to keep up on future developments. Maybe you find some nice acreage but there’s going to be a nearby shopping center built within 18 months. All things to consider.
