If you’ve changed jobs frequently, you might be worried it could hurt your chances of getting a mortgage. The good news? It doesn’t automatically disqualify you. While lenders do look at your employment history, they’re more focused on job stability than job loyalty.

Lenders want confidence that you can repay your loan. That means showing a steady, reliable income—not necessarily years at the same job. If your income has remained consistent or increased over time, even across different employers, that works in your favor.
In fact, career progression (especially within the same industry or field) can be a plus. If your job changes reflect upward mobility or better opportunities, lenders may see that as a sign of financial responsibility.
