Today, we’re talking about home inspections.
Should you get one? Should you not? Is it worth the money?
For some form of guidance, I’m going to tell you that most brokerages, including my own, highly recommend getting an inspection. This involves having a professional go through the house and test things like switches, windows, heating and cooling systems, and more. They’ll generate a report that tells you what’s right and wrong with the house, so it’s always highly recommended that you get one.
That said, it’s completely optional whether you choose to do so. It really depends on your level of comfort and experience with home repairs and that type of thing.
One situation where it might be less necessary is with new construction homes, where the property is still under a builder’s warranty.
“Should I get my home inspected?” is a question all home buyers should ask and the answer will depend. But in all cases, your broker recommends that you do.
