Spring is here, and the Fort Wayne housing market is showing signs of stabilization after a rapid start to the year. According to the latest Insider’s Report, buyer activity picked up in March with an 8% increase in closed sales month-over-month. However, year-over-year numbers continue to show a slight decline in both units sold and new listings, pointing to ongoing inventory challenges.
Despite slower price growth compared to last year, buyer confidence appears to be rising as mortgage rates hover in the mid-6% range. Sellers are advised to price strategically and prepare for more negotiations, while buyers may find better opportunities before the competitive summer season heats up.
