Honoring the Brave: Memorial Day 2025
Memorial Day is more than a three-day weekend or the unofficial start of summer. It’s a solemn reminder of the price of freedom—and a time for all of us to honor and remember the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.
These brave individuals made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the values we hold dear—freedom, democracy, and the right to live in peace. While no words can truly capture the depth of their sacrifice, we can all take time today to reflect, show gratitude, and keep their memory alive.
Ways to Honor the Fallen This Memorial Day
Whether you have a personal connection to someone who served or simply want to show your respect, here are some meaningful ways to honor our nation’s heroes:
1. Visit a local memorial or cemetery.
Place flags or flowers at the graves of fallen soldiers. Fort Wayne has several memorials and cemeteries where you can pay your respects, including the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum.
2. Attend a Memorial Day ceremony or parade.
Many communities host public events with guest speakers, moments of silence, and flag ceremonies. These events offer a powerful opportunity to reflect together as a community.
3. Pause for the National Moment of Remembrance.
At 3:00 PM local time, Americans across the country are encouraged to stop and observe a minute of silence to honor those who died in military service. It’s a simple yet powerful gesture.
4. Share their stories.
If you have a friend or family member who served and sacrificed, talk about them. Post a tribute on social media, write about them, or share photos. Keeping their memory alive helps ensure they are never forgotten.
5. Support veterans and military families.
Donate to or volunteer with organizations that support Gold Star families, disabled veterans, or active-duty service members. Honor the fallen by uplifting those they left behind.
6. Fly the flag.
Display the American flag at your home—half-staff until noon, then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day—as a traditional sign of respect and remembrance.
As we gather with friends and family today, let us not forget the true meaning of this day. Memorial Day is a time for gratitude, reverence, and remembrance.
From my family to yours, wishing you a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day.

Why Does RE/MAX Results Stand Out Among the Competition?
Simply put: Relationships. We pride ourselves not only in our professional service but more importantly in the personal touch we bring to our business. Has an agent/lawyer/contractor/vendor ever treated you like you were just another paycheck? The reason our clients come back time and again and refer all their friends and family to us is because they know we are part of the family.
Genuinely caring about the people we serve enables us to do things other agencies can’t. Rest assured, we will ALWAYS have your best interest at heart and work vigorously to get you the best deal possible on your home or business. The relationships we build with our clients enable us to work 100% by referral.
The reason we are able to give top notch service to our clients is because our clients refer us a constant stream of quality family and friends to assist in their real estate needs. While other agents are out making cold calls and chasing “potential” leads, we are freed up by our referral base to service our clients like no other broker can. We are never too busy for your referrals!
